Taser Numbers

 

 

In 2008, officers in the department deployed tasers 378 times.

 

In 2018, officers used tasers 46 times.

 

So far, in 2019, officers have deployed the taser 25 times.

 

I accounted for 3 of those incidents.

 

 

 

 

Qual

 

After roll call, D-Fresh

ran me through range.

I shot a 94 with my primary

and a 96 with the back up.

 

 

PVO

 

Today, I had a single day of In-Service:PVO

The day consisted of four classes:

Skid Car, Precision Driving,

Breaking and turning at speed, and PIT.

 

 

Nomenclature

 

The department no longer teaches defensive tactics. Now, they teach control tactics.

Taser: Firmware

 

 

At Inservice, the department replaced

our batteries and the firmware. Now,

if the trigger is depressed, the weapon

will cycle for a maximum of 5 seconds.

 

 

 

 

 

Winter Qual

 

I shot a 98.8.

Three fours away from a possible. 

 

 

Fall Qual

 

For Fall Range, I started

with a 4 inch long by two inch

wide grouping, but put most

 of my 25 yard shots in the 4 ring

and two over the shoulder in line.

 

Ejected brass from Beach Boy's

gun landed on my forearms

as we fired.

 

In the end, I shot a 92

and no burns from the brass.
