Jargon: Points

 

Points are needles. Points are rigs.

Points have Hep C and HIV.

There in almost every pocket I search. 

 

Hence the first question I ask a custody...

 

Do you have any points? Any needles? Anything that's gonna stick me?

 

Usage:

 

Looky here. There's an uncapped needle in your pocket. I thought you said you had no points? Now, is there going to be any more surprises? I don't care if you have needles. I don't want to get stuck. 

 

 

 

Jargon: Gold Star Team Player

 

An officer who regularly works shift over time to make minimums.

 

 

Jargon: Porch Pirate

 

A person who steals packages from the porches and the front steps of homes.

 

Usage:

 

At roll call, the sergeant passed around a photo of a porch

pirate caught on video from a house in the West Hills. 

 

 

Spider Bite

 

Spider bite: An MERSA infection caused by using dirty needles.

A term used by addicts to describe the source of their injections and abscess.

It is never true. 

 

Usage:

A spider bite.

It's a red mound with a pussy head

Mummy Man

 

A mummy man is street slang for the dummy

a transients puts in their bedrolls, making

their camps look occupied to discourage

theft and others claiming their squats.

 

Usage:

 

My camp will be fine

as long as you let me

set up my mummy man. 

 

 

 

 

 

Jargon: Percussionist

 

 

 

A percussionist is a subject, at jail or detox,

who bangs on the isolation room doors for hours.

 

 

 

MOB

 

 

A man with a "MOB"

tattoo in Gothic script sees

himself as a pimp.

 

On the street, MOB means

"Money Over Bitches."

 

 

 

 

Jargon: Real Estate

 

Real Estate is the room on a duty belt an officer has for gear.

 

 

Meaning

 

Tonight, a woman at a stabbing said,

"She a bitch, meaning she's not his girl,

but just someone he has sex with."

 

 

Jargon: Falling Out

Falling Out is on the nod, street slang for a subject falling asleep due to an injection of heroin.

Usage: "That junkie was falling out while holding that baby. You should do something about that!"
