In 2018, 93 transients died on the street.
In 2019, the number was 113.
Per the County, 57 died from "Accident" (I believe this includes over-doses of opioids, meth, alcohol, etc,) 34 died of natural causes, 15 committed suicide, 6 were murdered, and one person had the cause of death was undetermined.
The report points towards drug addiction as a cause of the increase stating, “The ecosystem we’ve developed in this country has led to 90 percent pure meth being available for about the price of a latte,”
