My LT, called me up. I'm getting dinged. He apologized. It's stupid. It's how the department works.
On a Use of Force form, I checked the box saying I did not issue a use of force warning, but wrote I told the woman who was biting my hands if she did not stop, I would punch her.
I told the LT, I was ordered to write the report that way by the Sgt, since I shoved her head aside and did not punch her.
The LT understood, but to the DOJ, I still get a ding. The Sgt gets nothing.

Huh, always thought use of force just applied to guns.
I've hit very few people in my lifetime, haven't needed to, but one of them was someone biting me. It's weird, being bitten, it invokes a primal response. Kinda like panic, maybe, just something about being bitten..
I guess I'm saying I empathize with you.
