I worked at detox for many years and saw you regularly. Without fail you were professional and compassionate despite the vitriol hurled your way. No matter how many times a person fell down, you picked them back up and brought them in to get assistance. You always helped _us_ when we asked, too.

Let's see. I don't really know you well as an officer of the law, but there was one conversation regarding the law, I had with you, that really stuck with me.
I had gotten into welding, at PCC, and I get around and have noticed that there are more than a few public areas that could use some welding to fix signs and such. So I asked you about how legal it would be to bring around some welding stuff to fix things that need fixing.
You pointed out that the welding equipment is explosive and that it could be misinterpreted as a bomb I was carrying around. That never occurred to me as part of the equation. I thank you very much, RD, for pointing that out. Probably saved me some jail time...
