Off 3rd, stepping out the Vic, an old school mope

cocks his head, looks at me, smiles, and says,

"Back in in the day, if I took one sight of you,

I'd be running."

 

For awhile, back when I worked the Villages,

he had his hand in every bike theft and burg.

He's been a decade clean and happy

to announce he doesn't have to run from me.
