When You Defund the Police: The October Edition

 

The shift, West Afternoons, has been short all week. Minimums are 17. 

Monday, we hired three on overtime to be at 16 officers.

Tuesday, we hired five officers on OT to be at 12 officers

Wednesday, we hired two on OT, but we were still at 13.

Today, we are at -nine, leaving 8 officers to cover the precinct.

 

North  send over two cars to help us. East send a single two person car, bringing us to 12 officers

Tonight, East is two under minimums with one on overtime. By lending us 2 two officers, they were minus four.

 North hired 4 on overtime to be minus two 2. Lending us two cars placed them at -4.

We are on Priority 1-2 calls, and then Priority 1-3 until Afternoons went home. Priority calls came in faster than the dispatcher could find cars to send. 

 

When I logged off, there were 55 calls in the precinct holding.
