October: 1,031

November 1,140

As of November, 8,024 cars have been stolen. 1500 more than in the same time frame in 2017. 

 

 

The Vic

 

Per the Fleet Manager, I have the last Crown Vic in the department. He turned in the four Vics at Training today. 

 

 

Deputy Dog: Call of the Day

One of my brother's calls from the rural half of the state.....

 

Complainant:

I can't find my dog. I think he is up on property behind mine: 800 acre cattle ranch. I heard a gun shot. Now, I can't find my dog.

Deputy Dog: 

If your dog is after livestock, ranchers can shoot it.

Complainant:

I know the law, but they shouldn't be able to shoot my dog.

Deputy Dog:

Okay, how can I help?

 

The Complainant hangs up.

The department hired six today. The total hires for this year is 27. The good news is we only lost five officers in November.

When You Defund the Police. Prowlers

 

The precinct is short on cars. Cars are wrecked weekly. There isn't money or parts to fix some of the cars. Many are totaled after being rammed by a suspect. We no longer have enough for the minimum needed to run two shifts. Day Shift has to come in before Afternoons can come out. Even then, officers need to double up to have enough cars. Soon, everyone might have to work partner cars to deal with the shortage and the department is not scheduled to receive new cars until December of 2022.
