At the start of shift, after my work out, my wife called. She's coming home from the beach with my daughter, her sister, and my brother-in-law. His car broke down. Could I come get them?
I call my sergeant. He approves a day of dependent leave.
I'm there in 40 minutes.
Once home, I noticed one of my co-workers called. I hadn't gone 10-11, so he was checking in on me.
I called back and let him know I was 10-4 and taking care of family.
What a blessing to have close coworkers who care.

I've read your blog from the beginning after running across it because you are a light held up in the darkness. God bless you and your family, may he hold his hand over you and guard you as you go to and fro. You give me hope.

@aDill,
I was wondering who was reading years worth of blogs posts over a few days. Thank you for the kind words and I will take all the blessing God grants.
Cheers,
RD
