At Inservice, the department replaced
our batteries and the firmware. Now,
if the trigger is depressed, the weapon
will cycle for a maximum of 5 seconds.

Yes, this is for the taser.
It is good in that it limits blasts despite an officer crushing down the trigger in a fight.
It even warns you at three seconds to let you know you have to depress again for another charge, if needed.
