On the left side of the photo (the right side of my brother's face), you can see three small titanium brackets and one long plates. The screws are visible. For the technically minded, the screws are Phillips heads.

I hope his recovery is progressing well and that his spirits are high. Does his injury at least mean that he has more time with family for a while?

He is progressing well and has his sense of humor. He just has been okay'd for light duty.

It is amazing what they can do these days. When you see those photo's, however, it really brings it home what your brother has been through. I am so very glad to hear he is progressing well. Please pass on my very best of wishes to him.
