Amidst last night's scrum, as I struggled
with the suicidal subject, my mike clicked
on and off throughout the tussle letting all
on West's air hear the sounds of the scrape.
One sergeant said he heard the transmission
and thought, "There's an ass kicking going on,"
and headed code to the call.
Glad to hear you're OK and all ended well.

Thank you Jay!
The call hangs in the balance between the determination not to be hurt, while ensuring the suicidal subject is hurt as little as possible and hence the term 'scrumming.'
D-Fresh came code to the call. Two days later, he couldn't figure out why his leg was sore. He looked and found an abrasion and bruise at where he had been kicked in the shin.
It is the nature of police work: Small injuries felt days later.

People just do NOT realize the crap we put up with on a daily basis. Always glad to hear when things turn out okay for a Brother...way too many LODDs and the wall at the memorial in DC is getting way too big !!
Work safely my Brother....
