Chicago Mike was seleced by the supervisors
to be Officer of the Quarter for the shift.
I have never heard of the award,
but as a reward, the Chief will work
a trade day for him on April 13th.

Heck of a thing to pull on a guy on April 1st, he'll spend the whole day second-guessing the offer!
It's nice, though, to have a fancy title that actually has a useful reward attached to it.

That's awesome.

A reward for the officer... and a punishment for the shift leader.

Lt,
I like when a leader leads, or rolls up his sleeves, and does the work he asks the rank and to do. He learns what resources the shift has and what they lack. He learns what his people are capable of and what they have to do on a daily basis. It may be a pain for the supervisors, but in the long term, it is a win.
