Last August, Dutch and I responded to the report of a domestic beef on a quiet cul-de-sac. The drunken occupants of the home denied anything more than a party.
Last month, I arrested the male half on a menacing charge in the couple's new apartment. She wanted him out.
The victim told me the DV was daily and had occured before we arrived last summer.
Last night, Dutch and I returned on a VRO. The woman was drunk. She told us her ex had been living in the unit upstairs with his new girlfriend since he was released from jail. She didn't press charges for the menacing, but picked up a protection order.
Yesterday, her ex had fallen off a roof on a job site. He called her to take him to the hospital. She did, and then, called the new girlfriend to take over.
Her ex returned from the hospital by six with a broken left leg and sprained right ankle.
At eleven, she called to turn him in. He was home and high on pain meds.
He was too injuried too navigate the stairs. I held up his six foot - four frame, so we could get him down.
We couldn't have left him there. We had no choice. The arrest was mandatory.
