Yellow and Green

 

Last night, Grumpy showed me how to adjust

the screen color of the VCAD MTDs.

I change the screen to match

the school colors of my alma mater:

yellow font on a dark green back ground.

 

 

Detailed

 

West has detailed four officers to watch the ongoing Occupy protest 24 hours a day. If a shift is above minimums, the extra officers are assigned to District 9. If the shift is under minimums, the precinct has to hire overtime to watch the encampment.

 

 

 

Fall Qual

Fall range started at West today.

I shot a 96.4.

I aimed too low at 25 yards. 

 

 

Part II

 

Half the shift has been squaded up to occupy District 9.

Leaving the rest of us to chase our tails shagging calls.

 

 

 

District 9

 

At least one officer is starting to call the Occupy campsite outside the precinct District 9.

 

 

Missing

 

My duty jacket went walkabout.

Over the weekend, it disappeared

from the shelving unit in the precinct

where I store my gear.

 

I hope it finds it's way home soon.

The rainy season started early this year. 

 

 

Court

 

It's a court day: an Eight AM GJ

followed by a DV trial

after four of sleep.

The victim didn't show.

The case was set over to One.

At twelve-thirty, I spoke to the DDA,

the case has been dismissed.

 

 

 

Dragon's Gal

 

Dragon's Gal's been usin' 

heroin since she was thirteen.

Her sister started her.

She quit cold, pregnant, at sixteen,

and then didn't use for seventeen years.

 

That was three years ago,

Dragon bein' deported.

She's on the streets and long

lost custody of her children.

 

 

Two-Fer

 

Kenny the Mope calls my cell.

"Hey, Mike Motts owes me money. 

His old lady is at the Number Motel.

She has a warrant.

Go get her!"

 

I do.
