That is an amazing shot. Gotta ask, and I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere already and I'm just too darned lazy to look (though I'm sure I've been through the archives and haven't seen): what camera and lens do you use?

@J.F,
Until recently I used a Canon Powershot 600. That camera died last month. My new camera is a Canon Powershot 780 IS. Both are compact digital cameras with no ability to switch out lenses. I am very fond of pushing the digital macro setting of both cameras.

Mine is a Canon EOS A2E, with my favourite lens being a Tamron A03S (28-200mm zoom). I have to say that it's really annoying to carry around as it's a film, 'traditional' type of camera - and it's impossible to use at work, where all the good shots are. I've been looking at getting a compact digital one, especially with a good macro function. How does the Canon Powershot hold up to the elements? Do you carry it with you at work, or just in the locker?

@J.F,
I don't take the camera out every night. The camera itself is on 3" x 4" x .5". It's a digital compact. I have a small camera case attached to my lunch bag. I use it to hold my work cell phone when the camera is not in the bag.
Canons don't like sand, but what camera does. I had my last camera for four years. I took it to the mountains and the ocean, the rivers and on long hikes.
The compact size is idea for me.

I love this! It looks like a fairy-tale land mountain, if flipped sideways, ...with foothills. macro pix are facinating.

This spring, I trimmed back a few dead canes from this rose. They were thicker than my wrist. I had to use a saw.
