Overtime Opportunities

Returning to my car from a call,

I saw a message on the box.

It's from the Nights Sergeant.

"Want to work E-Shift

OT on Saturday?"

I typed,  Thank you, 

but I have out of town 

plans this weekend.

Hit send.

He replied, "How about next Friday?"

I checked with my wife.

Sure.

On Saturday, while I was away,

the Night Sergeant called,

spoke to my wife,

"I see your husband

is signed up for OT

next Friday.

Do you think he'll work

Saturday, too?"

She said, "No."

She knows the money

isn't worth a missing weekend.

Yes, we both know wives on the shift who send their husbands out to work OT to buy luxuries. Hours that the wives refuse to work themselves.
