When replacing a Mag-lite's halogen bulb, glove up.
The oils from your hands will burn the new bulb out.

This is true of a lot of bulbs. The oils on your fingers cause the surface of the bulb to heat unevenly...

Yeah, same is true of the light over our kitchen sink... though I cannot convince the DH of that!
