What a spectacular illusion - water seen through the eyes of Dali.
Actually, I wouldn't swear to it being water. Or that there's a substrate involved. The monochrome palette and image clarity impart a 3D quality suggesting these could be droplets of liquid mercury - flung into the air and captured in mid-flight.
