I would imagine that, even in 2009, it's still harder to be a female cop. Maybe they feel they have to be tougher, use more force to make themselves heard? Also, I think women are more often percieved as angry, while men are seen as consentrated.

That last point is an excellent one, Cath. I have to admit, part of me wants to applaud her simply because I'm sure she takes a fair amount of flak.

It's got to be weird to have your private life intersect with your professional one in your field, RD!

Cath - that's interesting... often times when I'm lost in thought my husband will ask me why I'm angry. Most of the time I'm not angry at all, I'm just thinking... but he has repeatedly told me I look mad when I'm thinking or concentrating on something.


You are right. Some have to be tougher. Some mother. Some never get respect. All are allowed to use more force then men.
