This year for our 17th wedding anniversary,
Big E and I bought tickets for the family to attend our
local Comic Con.
We had a blast. In an effort of Mommy-Daughter bonding,
Little e and I did a group cos-play. She donned her
Merida costume (complete with vintage bow), and I was
Elinor, Merida's mother. I made my dress, which I think
marks the first garment I've ever made myself that wasn't
a hat. Another year, I'd love to add a bear costume to
wear over it, but it was fun to dress up and more fun to
do it with my favorite Merida.
Sweet G also dressed up, although hers was solo cosplay.
G was Helena, one of her favorite clones from Orphan
Black. Ideally, she would have found other clones to
hang out with, but she only saw one possible Cosima.
Still, those who recognized her were thrilled to have
a Helena in their midst.
Big E did not dress up, although he did have an amazing
time talking up all of the artists at the Con. He moved
from table to table learning about people's art.
It was a grand day, and great way to celebrate 17 years
of weddedness.
