Spring break! Ahhh.
I suppose that one day it will occur to my children that
not every family spends spring break catching up on
the things that we fall behind in between Christmas and
the start of spring: sewing, art, cleaning, cooking,
and the most important of things: sleeping in.
One of these years they will say, "Why don't we go
places in spring break? So-and-so goes to such-and-such
a place every year, and we just stay home."
I hope they won't be too disappointed at the number of
trips not taken, and that instead they will look at the
Ukrainian Easter Eggs we've dyed and the ease in my
shoulders when I don't have to get up with the alarm,
and know that it was still time well spent.
In other thoughts, I spent yesterday afternoon blowing
out a collection of duck and chicken eggs bought from
a local farm at our lovely Homestead Supply store.
Tomorrow we'll mix up the dyes and get out the candles
and wax.
