I just finished my pretty new flyer for the Valentine
workshops I'm running this year. I'm really happy with
the flyer, and I'll post it in its own post, but first..
first, I must whinge about updating software, and then
wading through the endless, tiny, irritating changes.
One of my New Year accomplishments was to update
the Operating Systems on all of our computers and
bity devices. Yes, the new OS came out this summer,
and yes I've procrastinated since then. No it wasn't hard
to do, and we didn't loose any information, and I've
managed not to duplicate our calendars.
But. But, but, but, but, big bobbily butts!
The little changes are driving me to word process like a
longshoreman. Honestly. My touchpad gesture that used
to send my screen back to the previous page I'd been
visiting, now shows me my widgets (that I never use).
In fact, all of the gestures I used ALL THE TIME are
either gone or changed. Oh, in ineffectual swiping!
And the two ways I used to know to turn a PDF into a
JPEG? Both gone. Yes, I discovered the new method,
but not through on-line support. No. Good old trial
and bloody error. Holy shipping containers!
Are these major problems? No. Will I adapt? Yes.
But bilge water and union dues, I had things the
way I liked them, thank-you-very-much.
Grumble, grumble, grumble.
