This morning we toasted Little e's teacher
with sparkling apple cider and strawberries,
and gave her a wall hanging quilt designed by her last class.
Little e's teacher is retiring after 35 years of teaching.
Our class wrote a book about her retirement in
December, but I thought she needed a little something
more to take with her.
I love how the student's are reflected in their art.
The flower with the wood grain ovals is a Venus
flytrap, complete with 3 blue flies circling above.
The flower to the right, with the wide green base,
is a sundew, with drops of liquid falling out of it.
Little e's blossom has a layer of curling gold and black
petals and over a set of straight pink lollipop petals.
Mrs D was Sweetheart G's teacher as well, so we feel
quite close to her. (You can see the auction quilt I
made back when Sweet G was in 2nd grade here.)
We wish Mrs D the grandest of adventures in this new
era of her life.
