That was a very productive weekend.
It went something like this; sew, eat, sew, talk,
sew, eat, sew, sleep.
I got tons of stuff done, yet I don't feel like this:
There were a miracle or two here as well:
Mr Fuzzypants and The Tank touching noses!
Yep, a productive weekend all the way around.
What have I been doing? Well...
This is one of the new organizers I've made.
It holds an 8" by 5" pad of paper, and has holders
for pens, pencils, crochet hooks, or double pointed
knitting needles.
There is also a place for cabled knitting needles,
or a gauge, or whatever you need.
I also made these project bags. They are tall enough to
hold 6" double pointed needles and a small or medium
sized project. Working on a hat, or socks, or a scarf?
This will hold your project, and when you are knitting
or crocheting the bag can be cinched shut, so you can pull
the yarn out for working, but the ball of yarn won't escape
and roll across the floor like that fabled meatball.
The bag is fully lined, and has a wee pocket,
perfect for holding markers or a counter.
I'll be at the Llewellyn Holiday Market on Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13th.
Oh Mr Fluffypants, why do you taunt The Tank so?
He does not want to play.
He does not want to be your friend.
He wants to live his solitary grumpy, old man life.
The Tank hisses and spits and thumps you,
but you still follow behind him darting at his tail.
Oh Mr Fluffypants, please let the old man be.
I have a less than a week before the Holiday Market,
and things are finally moving along sewing wise.
I wish (oh, how I wish) this productivity had come a bit sooner,
but I'll take what I can get.
This year I'm selling some new products.
I'll have knitting bags and squeeze purses,
rolls that will hold pencils, pens, knitting needles,
or crochet hooks,
and then the old favorites; crowns, necessary pouches,
dice bags, children's purses, and organizers.
I've returned to using my supply of brocade.
It is the material I love/hate.
The colors and the patterns suck me in,
but the fluff and shimmy make grumble.
I spent a lovely day marrying cottons
and brocades into piles of colors and texture.
I was so cathartic and lovely!
That was why I started using brocade to begin with.
Today I think I'll finish my pile of prepped
projects, and I'm thinking about what to do next...
mushroom and acorn ornaments?
tutu's?
advent calendars?
flat purses?
felted scarves?
Mr Fluffypants is no fool.
He knows how to make his presence known.
"Hello, I am Mr Fluffypants and this is the 'in' place to nap."
The Tank seems to be doing alright (knock on wood).
We've begun to introduce them to each other, slowly.
Today, Mr Fluffypants tried to chase The Tank and even
(hold your breath) swatted at his tail.
The Tank (on best behavior) hissed and then did a quick (but totally legal) smack down on the kitten.
The kitten blinked, backed up, and shuffled away with something to ponder in his furry noggin.
Then they went back to their safe places (our room for The Tank, the back porch for Mr Fluffypants), for a break.

I would love to blame Mr Fuzzypants for my lack of productivity, but that would be (slightly) unfair.
I did finish a small pile of crowns today.
And I've started cutting out more brocade for bags and
I have organized piles of fabric for organizers.
But, most importantly, I feel calm.
Okay, I feel a little disappointed, but I'm not freaking out.
Much.
Mr. Fuzzypants, also known as the Kitten Without A Name,
has decided that hair is evil, and he will attack any hair
that has movement, including bangs.
It is somewhat unnerving to have a kitten launch itself
at your eyes in an attempt to kill your bangs.
I'm sure that from his view, he is saving me from
Unspeakable Evil, but I'm a little more concerned about my face. Obviously my priorities are all wrong.
