These photos aren't the best (flash, inside, no natural light) the colors are pretty washed out. But, I haven't a clue when I will have better pics (drizzily day, sick kiddos) so here you are... The Pachyderms on Parade:
It is just pinned at this point. I don't "quilt" my quilts. I stitch around the outside, and "in the ditch" (along the seam line) of the borders, and then I tie the middle. I am a renegade that way. I don't have access to a long arm quilter (a huge sewing machine that people use to sew through all the layers of a quilt to make decorative stitched designs), and I don't want to pay to have it done. Also, I honestly don't like most of the quilting I see done. It is rare, in my mind, to find quilting that adds to the quilt instead of cluttering it. There you go, the rebel quilter is coming out! Watch out!
When I have better light, I will take a close up photo of the panel and borders I used for the backing. The colors are very bleached here.
