Tonight, I arrested Envy.
It was inked across his throat
in bold, block letters.
He had a trio of wants
bundled together in an FTA.
Grump and I knocked on his door,
he said, "Come in."
We did, and snatched him.

At roll call, I was given a warrant card fir the man.
He thought we were a friend of his when we knocked at the door, or he'd never had invited us in.
He said de'd have fought, but his kids were home. He would have fought, if he was younger. He's past thirty and lived hard.
He was congenial enough on the ride to jail. I let him call his girlfriend, so he could tell her how to take care of his dog.
He never mentioned the kids.
